Hannah Thong (Overland Park, Kansas) has signed a letter of intent to attend Dordt University and join the Defender cross country and track and field programs. Â
Thong competed in both cross country and soccer for Heritage Christian Academy. A four-time state qualifier in cross country, Thong finished among the top 10 at state two years (2021 and 2023) and in the top 20 all four years. She is a three-time Kaw Valley Conference Champion and a two-time regional champion. Thong earned all-state honors her final three years at Heritage Christian.
"I am excited to have Hannah join our program," stated Dordt University Head Cross Country Coach Nate Wolf. " She is a perfect fit for Dordt University and can impact our program immediately. Hannah will bring a love of running and a desire to be a strong teammate to the team. I am excited to work with Hannah for the next four years.."
Thong has a personal best 5K time of 19:27 and plans to study Accounting at Dordt. She is the daughter of John and Lara.
"I felt God was leading me to attend Dordt because of its strong Biblical values, Christ-centered education and outstanding running program. I was also really drawn to choose Dordt because of its close, faith-filled community and I cannot wait to be part of it."
