The Dordt Defender football team extended its season opening winning streak to six with a 42-7 win over Dakota Wesleyan in Mitchell, South Dakota on Saturday afternoon, October 19.
The Defenders started the scoring with a 77 yard run by Daniel Dickerson on Dordt's first play from scrimmage and the senior running back figured into Dordt's next score with a 23 yard reception from Kolson Kruse to finish a seven play, 53 yard drive. The Defenders added one more touchdown late in the first quarter with Kruse finding Eliot Beal for a 17 yard strike with 1:19 left in the quarter.
After a Wesleyan score Dickerson found paydirt once more, this time on a 2 yard run to finish an 11 play, 69 yard drive and Dordt went into halftime up 28-7. Â Â The teams were scoreless in the third quarter as the defenses took over and it was Dordt finally breaking through with a Kolson Kruse six run to cap an 80 yard drive and Cody Boender finished the scoring with a 20 yard touchdown run for the 42-7 win.

- Dordt ran for 286 yards and passed for 138 and outgained Wesleyan 424-211. Wesleyan gained 57 yards on the ground.
