Women's Basketball | Ella Boerger Commit

(Monday, November 18; Sioux Center, Iowa) Ella Boerger, a senior at Grace Christian School (Alaska), has announced her intention to attend Dordt University and join the Defender women's basketball program.

Boerger is a 5-6 guard who averaged 15 points per game with four assists and four rebounds.  She has scored nearly 1,200 points in her high school career.

"I had the opportunity to attend the women's basketball prospect camp in April of my sophomore year and I was super impressed with Coach Harmsen and the players on the team. I wanted an authentic Christian college where I could pursue a nursing degree and play basketball and I have found that Dordt will be the perfect place for me to grow as a student, an athlete and a Christian.

Ella is the daughter of Jason and Julie Boerger of Anchorage, Alaska and she plans to study nursing.

Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).
