The Dordt men's soccer team lost a 5-1 decision in the GPAC Quarterfinals to Northwestern in Orange City, Iowa on Tuesday night.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Dordt struggled to get any momentum as they fell behind in the 12th minute after Miller Rojas put the first goal of the game in. Northwestern had a free kick just outside of the penalty area.
Mitchell Dryden saved the initial shot but was unable to secure the ball and it bounced around inside the six-yard box before Rojas scored his first goal of the season.
Northwestern scored the eventual game winner in the 30th minute after Stan van den Beld converted a penalty kick. Dordt would trail 2-0 at half.
The Raiders added to their lead after Drew Darnold scored in the 51st minute and Stan van den Beld netted his second of the evening in the 52nd to go up 4-0.
Dordt got on the scoreboard in the 65th minute after Tyson Rietsma drew a foul near the goal line outside of the penalty area.

Trigve Elkins got a head to and scored Dordt's only goal of the match.
Northwestern put in an insurance goal in the 80th minute after Lars Geutjes scored his second goal of the year.
