The Dordt women's soccer team lost a 1-0 decision to the Concordia Bulldogs in the GPAC Semifinal round in Seward, Nebraska.
HOW IT HAPPENED
In a game that featureed two of the top scoring teams in the GPAC, scoring didn't come easy. Concordia had a great chance in the sixth minute on a corner kick. Kierstynn Garner put the corner into the box that Mirarosa Gyllenswan got a head to. The ball was heading for the back post before
Jenna Wright made a two handed save at the goal line to keep it scoreless.Â
Dordt had a chance in the 30th minute off a corner kick that
Karinna Tel took short. Tel got the return pass and put a shot on frame but Angela Banks made a great diving save to keep Dordt off the scoreboard. The Bulldogs used that save to start a counter attack down the near sideline. Mirarosa Gyllenswan put a cross into the box that Kierstynn Garner put in for the only goal of the game.
Dordt struggled to get offensive looks in the second half as they only managed one shot. Dordt's best look came late in the second half on a corner.
Hayden Jennett put the corner into the box that
Brooke Marjama got a piece of but she put it off the crossbar.Â
