The Dordt Defender women's basketball team moved to 13-0 this season with a 97-77 win over The Master's (California) in a game played at Fullerton, California on Wednesday, December 18.

The Defenders used a 12-0 run early in the game to turn a 4-2 deficit into a 14-4 advantage and got a three-point basket each by
Willow Bleeker and
Macy Sievers. Dordt pushed the lead to 23-5 with just over four minutes left in the first quarter as
Brooke Smith converted a corner three-point shot and
Janie Van Donge got a basket  in the paint.
The Master's got within 25-15 but Dordt closed on an 8-2 run for a 33-17 first quarter lead. The Mustangs got as close as 11 in the second quarter but a
Desta Hoogendoorn basket right before the halftime buzzer put Dordt up 55-37. The lead grew to 79-53 in the third quarter and lead grew to its largest difference on a
Gracie Schoonhoven free throw for an 86-55 margin with 7:54 left.
The Master's answered with a 12-0 run but Van Donge's free throws and Sievers's back to back baskets extended the lead and Dordt took the 20-point difference.
Dordt is 13-0 and will host Doane on Thursday, January 2 when the season resumes.
