(Tuesday, December 3; Sioux Center, Iowa) Matthew Pedersen, a senior at McCool Junction High School (Nebraska), has announced his intention to attend Dordt and join the baseball program.  

Pedersen pitched 26 innings in summer 2024 and had a 4-1 record with 40 strikeouts and a 2.42 earned run average. He played for Nebraska Prospects in 2022 and 2024.  

"I chose Dordt because have God around everything. I also chose Dordt because the campus is really nice and everyone is so welcoming," said Pedersen.  

Matthew is the son of Priscilla Pedersen of Geneva, Nebraska and he plans to study criminal justice.  

Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).     

U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
