(Wednesday; February 14; Sioux Center, Iowa) Andrew Beekman, a senior at St. Croix Lutheran Academy (Minnesota), has announced his intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender football program.
Beekman is a 6-0, 185 pound wide receiver and safety who also served as punter and kicker. He averaged over 90 yards receiving per game in 2023 while earning all-conference honorable mention honors.
"I want to attend a Christian college and pursue a great education. Dordt has both of those and being able to play football is a huge bonus," said Beekman.
Andrew is the son of Marvin and Kathleen Beckman of Inver Groves Heights, Minnesota. Beekman plans to study engineering.
Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).
U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
