(Wednesday, February 14; Sioux Center, Iowa) Ethan Hernandez, a senior at Durango High School (Nevada), has announced his intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender football program.
Hernandez is 6-1, 160 pounds and had 13 pass break-ups at cornerback with a forced fumble and fumble recovery.
"I chose to attend Dordt for the strong and good academics the school has anas well as the overall environment and experience the school provides. I mainly chose Dordt for the fact of it being a Christian school so I can strengthen my relationship with the Lord and play football in an amazing program," said Hernandez.
Ethan is the son of Michele and Todd Hernandez of Las Vegas, Nevada. He will study engineering.
Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).
U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
