Football Commit | Treveon De Wayne Dawson Jr

(Wednesday; February 14; Sioux Center, Iowa) Treveon De Wayne Dawson Jr, a student at St. Pius Matthias Academy (California), has announced his intention to attend Dordt University and join the Defender football program.  

Dawson is a 5-10, 165 pound receiver and defensive back and he's a three-time, second-team all-league performer. 

"The people at Dordt and the surrounding area are very welcoming and made me feel like I belonged there. When I visited I was kind of 'iffy' about going, but my visit went great and changed my feelings. I believe that going to Dordt I'll thrive, be able to make an impact and grow as an overall person," said Dawson.  

Treveon is the son of Kris Dawson of Cerritos, California. He plans to study business administration

Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).    

U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
