(Wednesday, February 14; Sioux Center, Iowa)  Ben Lantz, a senior at Boyer Valley High School (Iowa), has announced his intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender football program.  

Lantz is a 6-3, 220 pound defensive end and had 63 tackles with 7.5 sacks and 17 tackles for loss while earning first-team all-district honors. He has been chosen to play in the 2024 Iowa Shrine Bowl.  

"I chose Dordt because I wanted to go to a small, Christian university where I owuld be pushed to work hard in all areas of my life," said Lantz.  

Ben is the son of Loren and Stephanie Lantz of Moorhead, Iowa. He will study actuarial science

Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).    

U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
