HOW IT HAPPENED
Chaz Gothard was on the losing end of an 8-3 decision in Atchison, Kansas. Dordt found themselves down early after three runs scored through the first two innings. Jack Harpole hit an RBI single the scored Hunter Moffet in the first and Hunter Moffet hit a two run home run in the second to score Rhett Spell. Dordt would get one back in the third as
Jason Carrig reached first on an error that allowed
Logan Harris to cross home. Benedictine scored four times in the third and fourth as Jack Minnis reached on an error to score Harpole again. Spell hit an RBI double to score Minnis in the third. Brice Martin kicked in a pair on a two RBI single to score both Minnis and Harpole to make the score 7-1. The Defenders tried to get something going with a
Phoenix West solo home run in the fifth to make it 7-2. In the bottom half of the fifth, the Ravens drew a bases loaded walk to score Moffet and score the eighth run of the game. Dordt scored one more in the seventh on a
Phoenix West single to score
Dylan Stanley but were unable to score any more. Defenders lost 8-3.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The second game of the day had plenty of offense as Dordt would get on the scoreboard first after
Phoenix West was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to bring in
Nolan Christianson. The lead wouldn't last long as the Ravens would bring home six runs in the bottom half of the second that was capped off by a Hunter Moffet grand slam to make the score 6-1. Dordt would get one back in the third after
Logan De Vries singled to bring in
Kayden Dean. Once again, Benedictine scored multiple runs in the third after Skylar Specht hit a three-run home run to score both Martin and Minnis. Moffet hit a ground-rule double to score Spell and Ashton Neuman hit another three-run home run to score both Homquist and Haas.
Dordt attempted a comeback, scoring seven runs in the fifth and sixth innings.
Joseph Schlesselman singled to bring home Carrig in the fifth.
Logan Harris reached on a single to center field that scored
Justin Bryson.
Jason Carrig reached on a fielder's choice and an error would allow Harris to score.
Drew Oreskes drew a bases loaded walk to score Carrig and
Logan De Vries hit a single to score both Oreskes and Dean. The Defenders made it 13-9 after six innings. Benedictine got an insurance run that proved to be huge as Dordt would score four in the seventh. Carrig hit a single to right field that scored

Joseph Schlesselman hit a three-run home run to make it a one-run game. Dordt was unable to plate another run and they would come up short, 14-13.
