Justin Kroeze (Blaine, Minn.) has signed a letter of intent to attend Dordt University and join the Defender men's cross country and track and field programs.  

Kroeze is a 6'2" middle distance and distance runner who has competed multiple seasons for the Avail Academy cross country and track and field teams. Kroeze earned all-state honors and is a two-time state qualifier in cross country. He is a finalist for the Minnesota Triple A award, an award that recognizes students who excel in athletics, academics and the arts.

"I am excited to welcome Justin to our program," said Dordt University Head Cross Coach Nate Wolf.  "Justin is a strong student and talented runner and whose faith is important to him. He is an excellent fit for Dordt University and our distance program. Justin's drive and work ethic will allow him to impact our program daily.  Additionally, he will excel academically and be an influential member of the campus community.  I am looking forward to working with Justin over the next four years."

Kroeze has personal bests of 2:05 in the 800m, 4:36 in the 1600m, 10:40 in the 3200m and 16:30 in the 5K. Kroeze is the son of Jon and Laura. 

"I chose to attend Dordt University because it is a place where I will be able to grow in my knowledge and in my faith," said Kroeze. "They have such a great cross country and track program; I look forward to being a Defender over the coming years."

Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).    

U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
