GAME 1
HOW IT HAPPENED
Dordt dropped a pitcher's battled in game one of its doubleheader with Northwestern on  Saturday afternoon at Orange City.
The two teams had one hit each as Dordt's
Chaz Gothard and Northwestern's Drew Dykstra threw a combined 161 pitches in the seven inning contest.
Northwestern's run came in the fourth when a single with one out led to runners at the corners after an error. A ground out to the shortstop produced the only run of the game in the fourth inning.
Dordt's best chance to score came in the sixth when
Morgan Wilkins reached on an error and back to back sacrifices got the runner to third base before an ground out ended the threat.  Dordt had two base runners in the game with Wilkins reaching on Dordt's only base hit in the third inning with a single.
THE NUMBERS
- Gothard allowed one hit with three walks and nine strikeouts.
- Wilkins was 1-2 at the plate.
GAME 2
Dordt relinquished a 1-0 lead in the third inning of its game with Northwestern on Saturday afternoon and eventually lost 6-4 when its comeback attempt came up short in the ninth inning.
Dordt's
Morgan Wilkins doubled in
Jason Carrig in the second inning for a 1-0 lead but Northwestern came back with three in the third and another three in the fifth for a 6-1 lead that held until the ninth inning.
In the ninth
Logan Harris doubled in Joey Schlesselman and Carrig singled to get Harris and
Caleb Beard in. Anthony Klinzing reached on an error to get the tying run on base but a strikeout ended the threat.
