(Wednesday, April 10; Sioux Center, Iowa) Reuben Horneman, a senior at Edmonton Christian High School (Alberta), has announced his intention to attend Dodt and join the Defender hockey program.  

"Reuben is going to be another solid addition to our incoming class for the Fall of 2024. He's an impressive young man with a desire to be surrounded by a faith-based community, and Dordt will be a great fit for him.," said Dordt hockey coach Tyler Morgan

Horneman is a 6-2 forward.  

"I chose Dordt because it has a good community feel, a Christian environment and I want to play hockey," said Horneman.  

Reuben is the son of Dan and Kristy Horneman of Spruce Grove, Alberta. He plans to study Construction Management.  

Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).    

U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
