HOW IT HAPPENED
The Dordt Defenders won its second match in a row with a 3-0 match win over Central Christian (Kansas). The Defenders overcame a slow start in set one with a 7-0 run to go from up 11-6 to lead 13-11. The teams traded points to get to 15-13 and the Defenders added to the lead with a couple
Michael Gross ace serves to eventually get up 18-13. The Tigers never got closer than four the rest of the way and fell 25-19.
Dordt went up 9-3 in set two and fought off a couple of Tiger comeback attempts that narrowed the difference to one, the final time at 16-15. Dordt followed with two in a row for an 18-15 lead and after a Central Christian point
Michael Gross recorded a kill for Dordt. Gross had another kill to get Dordt to 21-17 and after Central Christian pushed to within 21-19 Dordt closed with four points in a row.
Set three was never close as Dordt went up 5-1 immediately and extended the lead to 13-3 before winning 25-10.
