Dayna Koolhaas (Escalon, Calif.) has signed a letter of intent to attend Dordt University and join the Defender women's soccer program.  

Koolhaas played four years for the Ripon Christian High School soccer team where she was named the Southern Athletic League Most Valuable Player after leading the league with 41 goals and eight assists. Koolhaas earned all-League honors three years, playing both as a striker and defender in her career, and helped lead Ripon Christian to the SAC-Joaquin Sectional Championship this past year. 

"Dordt is a place like none other," said Koolhaas. "Dordt is Christ-Centered with so many outstanding people who are so friendly. I am so excited to become part of the campus community next fall."

Koolhaas plans to major in Secondary Education at Dordt and is the daughter of Dave and Shelly.

Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).    

U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
