Puglisi joins Defenders soccer program for the upcoming 2024 season

Eddie Puglisi (Woodbury, Minn.) has signed a letter of intent to attend Dordt University and join the Defender men's soccer program.  

Puglisi completed a standout, four-year career playing goalie for the Woodbury Senior High School. Puglisi earned all-state and first team all-conference honors after leading his team to a third place finish at the Class AAA state tournament as a senior (2023). His team captured both the sectional and regional championships. In 2022, Puglisi was named to the all-state, all-tournament team after leading Woodbury Senior to a state runner-up finish. 

For his career, Puglisi was named team captain two years, earned all-conference honors two years and started four years. He also played seven years of club soccer, most recently for the Minnesota Thunder Academy in 2023.

Puglisi plans to study Actuarial Science at Dordt. He is the son of Melissa and Frank.

Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).    

U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
