The Dordt University women's soccer team pushed its unbeaten streak to six with a record-setting 15-0 win against Waldorf in a GPAC match-up played tonight on the Defenders home turf.
The Defenders stay unbeaten in the league (2-0-1) and improve to 6-1-1 overall; they have won two straight matches and are unbeaten in their last six matches, going 5-0-1 during that time.
Dordt's 15 goals scored is a program record for a single match and the third time in program history the Defenders scored double-digit goals (10 vs Bethany Lutheran in 2004, vs Mount Marty in 2006).
Karinna Tel netted a career-best five goals, second most all-time in a single match, and
Joslyn Terpstra recorded her first career hat-trick to lead the Defenders.
How It Happened:
- Dordt scored six goals in the first half, led by Joslyn Terpstra who netted all three of her goals in the opening 45 minutes
- Tel, Eliza Evans and Ellie Stuart also scored a goal in the opening half
- Stuart and Hayden Jennett both contributed two assists while Terpstra and Tel recorded the other two assists
- the Defenders netted nine more goals in the second half, three in the opening 10 minutes
- Tel scored her second goal at the 46th minute and her third for the hat-trick during the 53rd minute with an assist by Keely Kolbrek
- the junior's final two goals came within two minutes of each other, at the 59th and 61st minute
- Evans scored her second goal of the match at the 53rd minute
- Hayden Jennett completed her four-point night when she found the back of the net at the 57th minute
- Jolie Schouten scored a pair of goals; the first during the 62nd minute followed by another just three minutes later
- Allison Houser completed the scoring with her career goal at the 72-minute mark, assisted by Josi Van Riessen
