The Dordt Defender men's basketball team won its fifth game in a row with a 98-67 win over the Briar Cliff Chargers on Wednesday night, January 22 in Sioux Center, Iowa.

The Defenders trailed once in the first half as the teams traded a two point basket by
Lucas Lorenzen and a three-point play by Jaxson Wingert. The teams traded baskets for the next five minutes with Dordt maintaining a lead and the hosts were up 13-11 when
Jake Hargens converted a basket for a 15-11 lead and that started a 10-0 run that
Ben Fairclough ended with a three-point basket at the 10:41 mark.
Dordt's biggest lead of the first half came when
Ty Van Essen converted a basket off an assist by
Luke Rankin for a 42-23 lead that stood to halftime. Dordt's lead went to 23 early in the second half and was never less than 18 as the Defenders outscored the visitors 56-44 in the second half.
Dordt is 12-1 in the GPAC and 20-1 overall while Briar Cliff is now 6-6 and 11-9.
