After MNU opened the game with a quick 5–0 burst, Dordt responded immediately with a decisive 10–0 run that set the tone for the rest of the contest.
Olivia Harazin jump-started the surge with a basket and free throw,
Gracie Schoonhoven added a pair of finishes in the lane, and
Willow Bleeker knocked down a three-pointer as Dordt flipped the deficit into a 10–5 advantage in less than two minutes.
The Defenders continued to string together stops and scores, with
Macy Sievers and Harazin creating offense off ball movement, pushing the lead into double digits before the end of the first quarter at 23–13.
Dordt carried that momentum into the second quarter, steadily widening the gap behind scoring from Schoonhoven and perimeter shooting. Schoonhoven scored, while Sievers and Harazin combined to run the offense and find open shots.
A late push before halftime helped Dordt build a commanding cushion, as the Defenders went into the break ahead 38–22. MNU struggled to find consistency against Dordt's defense, and the Defenders capitalized by controlling the glass.
The third quarter saw MNU attempt to claw back into the game, but Dordt answered each run. Bleeker and
Aubrey Burkhart connected from beyond the arc, while Schoonhoven continued to score inside to keep the lead comfortable. Dordt entered the fourth quarter up 59–42, firmly in control.
The final period featured a grind-it-out finish, with both teams struggling to convert shots from the floor. Dordt managed the clock, leaned on its defense, and closed the game at the free throw line to secure the 64–48 victory, holding MNU to just six points in the fourth quarter as both offenses went cold late.
Dordt is 11-1 while MNU falls to 9-3. Dordt will face Benedictine tomorrow at 4:00 in Atchison, Kansas.
