The Dordt Defenders secured a lopsided win over Kansas on Friday night, December 5 at Overland Park, Kansas. Dodt had little trouble in getting the 9-4 win and took its 18
th win in a row in the process.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Dordt scored first on a
Rylan Veenstra goal just over three minutes into the contest and
Isaac Baart and
Tyler Welsh added goals in the final seven minutes to unlock a 1-1 tie.
Tegan Doelman scored two in a row early in the second period and the Defenders continued to roll with
Nick Espenson making it 6-1 at the end of the third period. Espenson added a second goal at the 15:20 mark of the third period and
Reuben Horneman got his first of the game for an 8-1.
Baart's second goal of the game put Dordt up 9-1 and three goals by Kansas in the period made the final 9-4.
Tim Nanson had 22 saves while facing 26 shots.
