The Dordt Defenders split a pair of games in Rogers, Arkansas on Saturday, February 15, securing a 10-2 win over Central Christian to start the day and finished with a 9-3 loss to Peru State to finish their first two weekends of play at 3-5.

VS CENTRAL CHRISTIAN
Dordt scored the first six runs of the game and were never challenged in its game with Central Christian.  Braeden Biggar started the scoring with a solo homerun in the first inning and Carson Belcer scored a run in the second on a wild pitch.

Leading 2-0 Drew Oreskes doubled in Joseph Schlesselman and Jimmy Twombly in the third for a 4-0 lead.  Moran Wilkins followed with a homerun with Oreskes on and Dordt's lead was 6-0.

Central Christian got one run in the fifth but Dordt countered with four more in the seventh as Wilkins knocked in Oreskes with a double and Logan Templeton homerun with Wilkins on for the eventual 10-2 win.

Matthew Eubanks was the winning pitcher with four innings of no-hit baseball and he struck out five.  Dordt's pitchers combined to allow two hits.

VS PERU STATE
Peru State struck for six runs in the first two innings and went on to defeat Dordt 9-3 in the last game of four this weekend.  The Bobcats took advantage of two errors in the first inning for four runs and added two more in the second as they took advantage of pair of walks, a hit batsman and a wild pitch.

Dordt first run came in the bottom of the second when DJ Kerr singled in Logan Templeton and after two in the sixth for Peru State the Defenders got a run with a bases loaded walk and added a run in the seventh when Gabriel McFarland scored on a wild pitch.
