Box Score 2 The Dordt Defenders split their two games on Monday in Kansas City against Kansas Christian and Valley City State. The Defenders started the day by hanging on for a 10-8 win over the Kansas Christian and ended the day with a 9-3 loss to Valley City State.
Dordt is 4-6 and will face Valley City State on Tuesday in Atchison, Kansas in a double header starting at 11:00.

VS KANSAS CHRISTIAN
The Defenders played from in front from the start and won a 10-8 decision over Kansas Christian and took advantage of six errors on the way to the non-conference decision.
Dordt scored five in the second and led 6-0 with
Logan Templeton homering and
Braeden Biggar doubled in a run.
Joseph Schlesselman produced two runs wit a single and
Logan Harris's triple capped the inning outburst.
Kansas Christian got four back in the bottom of the third and the score held until the sixth when Biggar doubled a run in with his second two-bagger and Harris put the ball in play with the bases loaded and a run came in to score on an error.
Belcher singled in the seventh inning to push
Matthew McMillian in and Belcher was later part of a double steal that scored
Caleb Beard. The Eagles threatened and scored three in the home half of the seventh but left the bases loaded with
Drew DeVries getting the save while recording the final out.

VS VALLEY CITY STATE
The Defenders fell behind to Valley City State 6-1 after three innings before getting a pair in the fourth and losing a 9-3 decision in the first of three games with Valley City State to start the week.
Logan Harris started the scoring with an rbi ground out that got
Jimmy Twombly in but Valley City State answered with a run in the home half of the first and three more in the second. A homerun and an unearned run in the third put the Defenders behind 6-1 entering the fourth.
Carson Belcher had a single in the fourth inning that knocked in
Logan Templeton and
Morgan Wilkins and that was all the Dordt scoring as the Vikings tacked on one in the fourth and two more in the sixth for the final.
