The Dordt Defenders never trailed and won a 76-59 decision in GPAC Quarterfinal men's basketball play on Wednesday night, February 26.

Lucas Lorenzen three-point baskets started the Dordt scoring and Mount Marty rallied to tie the game 10-10 with 12:47 left on a pair of Tash Lunday free throws.
Ty Van Essen converted to give Dordt a 12-10 lead and started a 14-0 run that ended with a
Jake Hargens basket at the 6:49 mark. Dordt pushed the lead to as many as 18 before settling for a 36-20 halftime lead as
Luke Rankin converted a jumper right before the horn.
Ben Fairclough started the scoring in the second half with a three-point shot and Dordt had it's biggest lead at 39-20. Eight straight by the visitors neutralized the momentum and the Defenders built the lead back to 49-31 with 14:00 remaining in the game. The Lancers proceeded to outscore Dordt 18-5 over the next six minutes and had the lead down to 54-49.
It was still a five point difference with 6:20 left as Sutton Arend completed a three-point play to make it 57-52.
Ben Fairclough scored on an inbounds play and he had a tip in as part of an eventual 10-0 run that effectively put the game out of reach.
Dordt will take a 27-2 mark into the semifinal round on Saturday afternoon at 4:00 against Morningside at the De Witt Gym.
