Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The Dordt Defender baseball battled to a split with Midland in GPAC baseball on Saturday afternoon in Sioux Center, Iowa. Dordt rallied to tie the game but lost a 13-6 game one and then battled to an 11-5 win in game two to get a win in the series and its sixth of the GPAC season.

GAME 1
The Midland Warriors scored two in the first and added four more in the fifth as Dordt stranded six along the way. In the bottom of the fifth Jimmy Twombly homered to start the inning and Matthew McMillian doubled to score Logan Templeton and Carson Belcher with the bases loaded.  A DJ Kerr double scored two more and Chisum Demmers singled in Kerr to tie the game.  The Defenders missed an even bigger inning as they left the bases loaded.

Midland got a solo homerun in the sixth to retake the lead and added six more on six hits in the top of the seventh to make the final 13-6.

GAME 2
The Defenders never trailed and secured a Saturday split with the 11-5 win in game two. Dordt scored three in the first inning with Drew Oreskes singling in a Joseph Schlesselman and Matt McMillian was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.  Another bases loaded walk to Morgan Wilkins put Dordt up 3-0 and they left the bases loaded.

Midland got a run in the second and another in the third. Schlesselman singled in DJ Kerr in the fourth and Oreskes homered in the fifth for a 5-2 lead. The Warriors managed to tie the game with three in the sixth.  This time it was Dordt's turn to answer with Carson Belcher clubbing a grand slam and Logan Harris's homerun pushed the difference to 10-5.  Logan Templeton's homer followed and the back-to-back-to-back homers gave Dordt an 11-5 lead that eventually was the final.
