Box Score 2 The Dordt Defender baseball team lost a 6-5, 13-inning decision to start their oubleheader with Doane and lost a 6-0 decision in game two in Crete, Nebraska on Thursday afternoon, April 3.

GAME 1
Dordt was unable to hold three leads going into the bottom half of what could have been the last inning and dropped the 13-inning game to start the day. Dordt came back from a 2-0 deficit in the fourth inning with a sacrifice fly by
Chisum Demmers and a two-run single by
Drew Oreskes. The lead held until the bottom of the seventh inning when the hosts got a run across with two outs to force extra innings.
After a scoreless eighth, ninth and tenth inning Dordt got a run on a single by
Braeden Biggar that scored
Caleb Beard. It was one of three hits Biggar had in the game. Doane again got a run across to tie the game on chopped single to third base. A scoreless 12
th inning ensued and Dordt went up again in the 13
th with
Logan Templeton delivering a sacrifice fly that scored
Gabriel McFarland. Doane proceeded to get a bases loaded walk in the 13
th to tie the game and won it on a singe with the bases loaded.
Dordt used nine pitchers in the game and Doane had a 12-10 hits advantage.

GAME 2
Doane scored in each of the first four innings and played from in front for a 6-0 win. The Tigers had a run each in the first, second and fourth and scored three in the third for their 19
th win of the season.
Dordt stranded two in the second and sixth innings and had a base runner in six out of seven innings but was limited to four hits in the loss.
Logan Templeton led off the second with a double and
Morgan Wilkins walked. A sacrifice bunt got the two runners into scoring position but a strike out and a pop out ended the inning. Dordt's threat in the sixth had
Matthew McMillian getting hit by a pitch and Wilkins had a single but a pop out in foul territory and a strikeout ended the uprising.
Dordt is 15-21 while Doane stands 19-10. Dordt is scheduled to face Hastings on Saturday, April 5 at 3pm.
