The Dordt University women's soccer team fell to No.3 College of Idaho 3-1 in a non-conference match played this afternoon at Simplot Stadium in Caldwell, Idaho.
Dordt is now 0-2 this season as they head back to Sioux Center and get set for their home opener against NCAA D-II University of Sioux Falls on Friday, August 29 at 5pm. The host Yotes, a national semifinalist in 2024, improves to 1-0.
The Defenders (0-2) fell behind early as the Yotes scored twice in the first half. Gianna Yslava netted the opening goal in the 28th minute, assisted by Abbi Roubidoux and Allison Moultray. Less than two minutes later, Roubidoux added a goal of her own, with Yslava and Natasja Davis providing the setup.
College of Idaho extended its lead to 3-0 in the 72nd minute when Eden Makaafi scored off a pass from Yslava.
Dordt responded late in the match with a goal from senior forward
Karinna Tel in the 88th minute—her first of the season. Tel led the Defenders with three shots, two on goal, and played 80 minutes.

Lydia Zylstra turned in a strong performance despite the loss, recording a career-best 13 saves on 34 shots faced.
