The Dordt University men's soccer team was unable to find the back of the net in a 2-0 loss to conference foe Dakota Wesleyan on Wednesday evening at the Pepsi-Cola Soccer Complex in Mitchell, S.D.
The Defenders dropped to 2-4-2 overall and 0-2 in GPAC play, while the Tigers improved to 4-5 and remained unbeaten in conference action at 2-0.
Dakota Wesleyan opened the scoring in the 11th minute when Evan Bolster capitalized on a setup from Lukas Adamhuber to give the Tigers an early lead. Despite several offensive pushes from Dordt, including 11 total shots and six corner kicks, the Defenders were unable to convert their scoring chances.
Dordt's best opportunities came in the second half, with
Tate Hansen and
Pablo Martin Domingo each forcing saves from DWU goalkeeper Zackary Stephens, who finished with three stops to preserve the shutout.
The Tigers sealed the match in the 82nd minute when substitute Tristin Hendricks found the net for the second goal of the night.
