The Defenders opened the game with a 27–5 first-quarter advantage and never looked back, using efficient shooting, decisive runs, and a dominant performance from
Gracie Schoonhoven to improve to 18–1 overall and 12–1 in GPAC play.
Dordt struck immediately.
Desta Hoogendoorn scored the opening basket at the 9:23 mark of the first quarter, and the Defenders held the Tigers scoreless for more than two minutes as
Olivia Harazin and Schoonhoven added buckets to push the early lead to 7–2. A 9–0 stretch followed shortly after, highlighted by a Schoonhoven free throw, Harazin's second layup, and a transition score by
Macy Sievers. Dordt led 13–2 at 4:58 after
Taylor Drent scored inside off a Schoonhoven assist.
The Defenders closed the first quarter on a 14–1 burst, keyed by back-to-back baskets from Schoonhoven, a transition layup by Zomer, and a deep three from Schoonhoven in the final minute to extend the margin to 23–4 before Sievers buried a pull-up jumper at the buzzer for a 27–5 lead.
The momentum continued into the second period as Schoonhoven sank another free throw and
Willow Bleeker knocked down a wing three to spark an early 6–1 run. Dordt's offense continued to fire efficiently, with Harazin, Schoonhoven, and Hoogendoorn scoring in the paint and
Aubrey Burkhart drilling a right-side three to make it 34–10 midway through the quarter. Another stretch of nine straight points—punctuated by a Schoonhoven three-point play and a baseline jumper from Hoogendoorn—extended the lead to 46–13 with 2:47 left. Dordt entered halftime ahead 52–16 after a late Schoonhoven jumper.
Dordt opened the third quarter with a 6–0 run as Harazin finished at the rim, Schoonhoven hit from deep, and Harazin converted two free throws. After a brief Doane answer, Schoonhoven scored again to start another 6–0 spurt, and Hoogendoorn finished a layup at 5:52 to make the margin 63–22. The Defenders continued their rhythm with a Burkhart three and a Sievers three-point play late in the period, giving Dordt a 79–31 lead heading into the final quarter.
With reserves playing the bulk of the fourth, Dordt still pushed the pace.
Miylie Zomer made two free throws early before freshman
McKenzie Goodwin converted a three-point play at 7:05. Burkhart added another three at the 1:22 mark, and
