Dordt swimmers produced a series of strong individual performances at the Midland Sprint Event, led by multiple event wins and several top-three finishes as Dordt won the three-team event with 118 points. Midland was second with 96 and Hastings score 15.
Ellie Junk and
Lucy Borofka each won two events to lead the Defenders. Junk claimed the 50-yard breaststroke in 33.77 seconds and won the 100-yard individual medley in 1:06.95. Borofka swept the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle events, posting times of 26.60 and 58.56 seconds, respectively.
Isabelle Habashy added a first-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:17.77 and placed second in the 50-yard breaststroke in 34.24 seconds.
Emily Bandelin won the 50-yard butterfly in 30.20 seconds.
Dordt also had several additional top-three finishes.
Grace Baker placed second in the 50-yard freestyle (27.15), while
Rylan Vande Vegte took third in the 100-yard freestyle (59.76).
Brooklyn Wright finished third in the 100-yard individual medley (1:08.83).
The Defenders also had strong performances in the backstroke and individual medley events, with Vande Vegte placing second in the 50-yard backstroke and second in the 100-yard backstroke. Wright added a second-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly.
