Dordt established control early, using a strong first-half defensive effort to build a 33-19 lead at the intermission. The Defenders opened the match with a three-pointer from
Steven Poulicek on their first possession and never looked back. A balanced attack saw the lead stretch to as many as 29-13 late in the first half following a layup by
Judson Henkel.
The momentum stayed with the Defenders in the second half as they outscored the Warriors 48-40. Dordt's offense found its rhythm after the break, shooting 57.6% from the field in the final 20 minutes.
Ty Van Essen anchored the scoring effort with 20 points, while a flurry of second-half baskets from
Jake Proctor and
Connor Millikan kept the Warriors from mounting a serious comeback bid.
Dordt will travel to face Dakota Wesleyan on Wednesday, February 18 in its next game.
