The Dordt University men's track and field team competed at the two-day SDSU Indoor Classic and three Defenders hit qualifying times in the final competition prior to the GPAC Championship next wekeend.

Notes:

• Isaac Davelaar was part of both Defender entries that won their respective race, taking first in the 600m and anchoring the 4x400 reley to gold
  • Davelaar set a meet record and hit the NAIA 'A' standard in the 600m with a time of 1:18.29
  • the junior ranks second in the NAIA
• Bennett Wassenaar placed sixth and hit a qualifying time in the 600m
  • the freshman crossed the finish line with a personal-best time of 1:20.27
  • Wassenaar is No.18 in the NAIA
• both Davelaar and Wassenaar were part of the Defenders winning 4x400 relay
  • the quartet ran a season-best time of 3:13.3 and hit the 'A' standard
  • Dordt moved up to No.2 in the NAIA
• the Defenders had a strong showing in the 800m with Casey Heinrichs and Anderson Schuttinga placing third and fourth with personal best times
• Dordt had four top-10 showings in the 1000m, led by Jamison Velzke who just missed a 'B' standard time and placed third overall
• Thomas Peltzer moved into the GPAC's top 10 and No.4 all-time in program history in the shot put
