The Dordt University men's track and field team completed day two at the NAIA Outdoor National Championships with an All-American finish in the 4x800 relay. The 3-day championship is being held at the Karl Straus Track in Asheville, N.C.
Coming into the 3-day championship with the 21st fastest time among the 28 teams, Dordt qualified for today's final with a 7:31.73 and the ninth best time in Wednesday's prelim. The Defenders quartet of
Isaac Davelaar,
Trace Obbink,
Ezra Landman and
Kaden Van Wyngarden came back to finish seventh in today's final with a time of 7:36.90 and taking home All-American honors. Marian (Ind.) won the 2026 championship with a time of 7:28.01.
Dordt finished with the 25th fastest time (3:22) in the 4x400 prelims and did not qualify for the finals. Xavier (La.) and Indiana Tech both ran a 3:09 and tied for the best time in the prelim. Dordt's relay consisted of
