Den Hartog Claims GPAC Honor for the Second Time This Season

The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) announced its weekly indoor track and field honors and Willem Den Hartog earned Men's Field Athlete of the Week for his performance from the Mount Marty Last Chance meet last weekend.  Notes:
  • this is the sixth and final installment of the weekly awards for the 2026 indoor season and encompasses competitions from Feb.9 - 15
  • this is the second time that Den Hartog has received the weekly honor 
    • also on Jan.29
  • the Defenders swept this week's awards as Isaac Davelaar was named the GPAC Men's Runner of the Week
  • Dordt men's athletes have won the weekly GPAC award six times during the 2026 indoor season
  • Den Hartog won the pole vault at the Mount Marty Last Chance Meet on Friday, Feb.13
  • Den Hartog cleared a personal-best 4.75m and hit the NAIA 'B' qualifying standard
  • the junior's mark is another school record as well as 12th best in the NAIA
  • Den Hartog is the first Dordt men's pole vaulter to qualify for the NAIA Indoor Championships
  • the Defenders will compete at the GPAC Indoor Championships this weekend, Feb.20-21, on the campus of Dordt University
