Nathan Adams completed day one of the heptathlon at the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Indoor Track and Field Championships.
The two-day championship is being held at the Holwerda Family Indoor Track on the campus of Dordt University.
Adams is in 12th place overall with 2,116 points and just 245 points in back of eighth place James Deseh (Mount Marty), the final all-conference slot, with three events remaining. The junior posted three personal bests in the four events today (high jump, 60m and shot put). Adams' best finish was in the day's final event (high jump) where he placed fourth.
Saturday's final three events are 60m hurdles, pole vault and the 1000m.
