Trinity College of Jacksonville scored two runs in the third inning and added insurance late in the game to defeat Dordt 4-0 on Saturday afternoon.  The Defenders later lost to Valley City State.  Details of the Valley City game are currently unavailable and will be posted when they are.

Neither team scored through the first two innings as Dordt starter Matt Eubanks worked around traffic and kept Trinity off the board early. Dordt also threatened in the second inning when Logan Templeton reached on an error and Logan Harris followed with a single to put two runners on with no outs, but the Defenders were unable to capitalize.

Trinity broke the scoreless tie in the third inning. After loading the bases, Richaun Amaro delivered an RBI single to score Cooper Scruggs for the game's first run. Another run scored later in the inning when Jacob Burke was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to give Trinity a 2-0 lead.

The visitors added to their advantage in the sixth inning. Scruggs drew a leadoff walk and eventually scored on a fielder's choice by Tyson LaChapelle to extend the lead to 3-0.

Trinity plated its final run in the seventh inning when Dominic Gattinella doubled and later scored on a sacrifice fly by Gadriel Burgos to push the lead to 4-0.

Dordt scattered five hits in the contest but could not break through against Trinity starter Brodie Nichols, who threw a complete-game shutout.

The Dordt Defenders were held to four hits and fell behind early in a 9-2 loss to Valley City State on Saturday afternoon in Orlando, Florida.

Valley City State jumped out to an early lead in the first inning. Hunter Logan led off with a single and scored on an Alexis Velasco double to right field. Later in the inning, Brady Papineau grounded out to shortstop, allowing Velasco to cross the plate for a 2-0 advantage.

Dordt rallied to tie the game in the third inning. Jarett Herz and Chisum Demmers reached safely before Jimmy Twombley drew a bases-loaded walk to bring in Dordt's first run. Drew Oreskes followed with a sacrifice fly to left, scoring Demmers to knot the game at 2-2.

The Vikings reclaimed control in the fourth inning with a four-run surge. Diesel Goya delivered a two-run single to right field to break the tie. Following two balks that allowed another run to score, Hunter Logan singled to center to drive in Goya, extending the lead to 6-2.

The lead grew to 9-2 in the eighth inning. After a run scored on a balk, Hunter Logan launched a two-run home run to left field to cap the scoring for Valley City State.

Dordt struggled to find a rhythm against Valley City State pitching. Takao Cookson earned the win, allowing two runs over five innings, while Jarrett Faue provided four innings of scoreless relief, striking out seven Defenders.
Daniel Buteyn took the loss for Dordt, surrendering five runs on six hits in three innings of work.
