Box Score 2 The Dordt Defenders finished their Florida Spring Break trip with a split of games on Monday, taking a come from behind win over Bismarck State and absorbing a 7-3 loss to Madonna. Dordt is now 19-6 overall and will open local play on Wednesday, March 18 at home against Waldorf.

The Dordt Defenders used a six-run fourth inning to erase an early deficit and held on for a 6-5 win over Bismarck State (North Dakota) on Monday in Florida.
Bismarck State struck first in the third inning when Brielle Wrangham hit a three-run home run to give the Mystics a 3-0 lead.
Dordt answered in a big way in the fourth inning.
Kacie Karsak singled to start the rally and
Sierra Pirkey followed with an RBI single to put the Defenders on the board.
Ashtyn Grissom then stole home to make it 3-2.
Peyton Whipple tied the game with an RBI single before
Chloe Kreuz delivered another run-scoring hit. An error allowed two runs to score on the play and
Annabelle Hensley added an RBI single later in the inning as Dordt plated six runs to move ahead 6-3.
Bismarck State cut into the lead in the sixth inning when Haily Molde doubled in a run and McKenzie Yantzer followed with an RBI single to trim the deficit to 6-5.
The Mystics threatened again in the seventh with a leadoff single, but Dordt pitcher
Abigail Tweedy induced a double play and recorded the final out to secure the victory.
Dordt finished with seven hits in the game with Tera Lynn Price leading the way with two. Pirkey, Whipple, Kreuz and Hensley each drove in a run.
Tweedy earned the win in the circle, pitching a complete game while striking out eight.

The Dordt Defenders built an early lead but Madonna responded with seven unanswered runs to claim a 7-3 win on Monday afternoon in Melbourne, Florida.
Dordt took control early with two runs in the second inning.
Sumaya Edwards singled to start the rally and later scored when
Taylor Schneider launched a two-run home run to right center for a 2-0 lead.
The Defenders added another run in the third inning when
Chloe Kreuz tripled to left center and came home on a single by
Rylee Yager to extend the advantage to 3-0.
Madonna began its comeback in the bottom of the third. Brynn Anteau delivered an RBI single and Rylee Fitzpatrick followed with another run-scoring hit to cut the deficit to 3-2.
The Crusaders took the lead in the fourth inning. Faith Peschke tripled and later scored on a two-run single by Ashley Rosiewicz before a run-scoring groundout from Faith Cramton pushed the margin to 5-3.
Madonna added insurance runs in the sixth inning as Fitzpatrick singled home a run and Ella Thomas added an RBI single to extend the lead to 7-3.
Dordt threatened with eight hits in the game but was unable to push another run across after the third inning. Schneider finished with a home run and two RBIs while Kreuz and
Sumaya Edwards each recorded two hits.
Rylee Yager pitched all six innings for Dordt, allowing seven runs on 11 hits while striking out four.
