The Dordt University men's track and field team competed at the USD Snooze Button Classic, a make-up meet hosted by the University of South Dakota and held at the Lillibridge Track Complex in Vermillion, S.D.

Notes:

• the meet was originally scheduled for Saturday, April 4 as the USD Early Bird but was called off due to the weather
• the 4x400 relay picked up one of the two Defender wins on the day, claiming gold in the final race of the day
  • the team of Levi Schelhaas, Jacob Schmoll, Noah Schroder and Isaac Davelaar qualified for nationals with a time of 3:14.08, currently the sixth fastest in the NAIA
• Davelaar earned the lone Defenders win in an individual event, taking first place in the 400m with a time of 48.01
  • Noah Schroder joined Davelaar in the top five, crossing the finish line in fifth place with a time of 48.84
• two Defenders, Micah Evenhouse and Thomas Peltzer, recorded personal bests and an all-time top 10 mark in their respective field event
  • Evenhouse placed 12th among a loaded field in the pole vault, clearing 4.41m
  • Peltzer tallied a top 10 finish with a 14.45m toss in the shot put
• Willem Den Hartog recorded another top 10 finish in the pole vault, placing ninth overall (4.56m)
• three Defenders finished among the top 10 in the 400m hurdles, led by Will Gutzmer (7th) with a time of 57.24
  • Wyatt Tschida (9th) and Scott Kroll (10th); Kroll ran a personal-best time
• Casey Heinrichs and Anderson Schuttinga finished second and third in the 800m
  • both Defenders ran personal best times
• Dordt placed three runners in the top 10 in the 1500m, led by Justin Kroeze (5th)
• Caleb Van Beek and Derrek Vander Leest placed 3rd and 4th in the 5000m
