Women's Soccer | Doell Named Assistant Coach In Women's Soccer Program

(Thursday, May 7; Sioux Center, Iowa) Dordt University Director of Athletics Darin Keizer has announced that Mary Doell has been hired as an assistant coach in the women's soccer program.

"We as a program are really excited to have Coach Mary Doell joining the family.  She is driven to make the program move forward and invest into each player here.  Mary brings a good variation to recruitment and high level of player development that can help our individual and team performances continue to grow.  Personally, I'm excited to work along side her as we strive to develop players spiritually, emotionally, academically and athletically.  Her relentless pursuit of excellence will be a welcomed addition to the program," said Dordt women's soccer head coach Payton Chitwood.

Doell previously served as a graduate assistant women's soccer coach at Warner University from 2023-25 and was a coaching intern at Imago Dei Soccer Academy. She was an Empire 8 All-Conference performer at Houghton University before finishing her playing career at Warner in 2021.

"Athletics fits naturally within this mission to integrate faith and learning. Through athletics, students learn discipline, resilience, forgiveness, teamwork, leadership, humility and perseverance," said Doell. "These lessons shape who student-athletes become long after graduation. As Christ followers, we should demonstrate these attributes in our daily lives as well as in our play on the field."

Doell begins her duties on June 1.
