(Thursday16; Sioux Center, Iowa) Carter Ver Meer, a student at Des Moines Area Community College and a 2024 graduate of West Lyon, has announced his intention to enroll at Dordt University and join the Defender baseball program.

Highlights: Was a Third Team All-State selection in 2024 and was on a state semifinalist team.  Had 22 hits and 30 runs batted in during the 2023 season and followed that with a .333 batting average in 2024 with 21 hits and four doubles.  Scored 59 runs during his career and he earned Academic All-Region honors while at DMACC.
