The No. 8 Dordt University football team will open the 2026 season against No. 9 Indiana Wesleyan on Friday, August 28 at 5 p.m. Central Time in Marion, Indiana. Both teams advanced to the second round of the NAIA Football Championship Series last season.

LAST TIME
Dordt concluded the 2025 season with a 26-18 loss on the field to Marian in the second round of the NAIA Football Championship Series. Marian led 14-0 at halftime and extended the advantage to 20-0 in the third quarter. Dordt scored 18 points over the final 24 minutes but could not complete the comeback. The result was later changed to a 7-0 Dordt win because Marian used an ineligible player. 

• Dordt outgained Marian 420-300 and had a 21-15 advantage in first downs.
• Dordt passed for 233 yards and rushed for 187.
• Dordt converted 4-of-7 fourth-down attempts.
• Marian intercepted three passes, including one returned 76 yards for a touchdown.

Indiana Wesleyan lost 57-31 to Lindsey Wilson in the second round of the NAIA Football Championship Series. The Wildcats scored the first 24 points and led 24-8 at halftime, but Lindsey Wilson scored 49 points over the final 30:07.
