The Dordt Defender women's golf team will compete at Lila Frommelt Invite on Wednesday, September 16 in Sioux City, Iowa. The 18-hole competition will be at Two Rivers Golf Club.

The Dordt University women's golf team established three program records and finished tied for third at the Siouxland Women's Invite, played Monday and Tuesday at The Ridge Golf Club in Sioux Center, Iowa.

Dordt recorded a program-best 318 in Tuesday's final round, breaking the single-round record of 321 established by the Defenders one day earlier. Dordt's 36-hole score of 639 also set a program record.
Morningside won the 14-team event with a 628, followed by Park with a 631. Dordt and Doane tied for third at 639.

Olivia Meyering led the Defenders and finished third overall with rounds of 77 and 75 for a 152. Her three-over-par 75 in the final round is the second-best individual round in program history, one stroke behind the record of 74.  Meyering had back to back birdies on the par-five 13th and 14th holes. The freshman set the program record for the lowest 36-hole total. 

Dordt's record-setting final round also included an 80 from Ashlee Sweeter, an 81 from Chloe Attema and a career-best 82 from Laney Franken. Sweeter improved eight strokes from Monday's opening round, while Franken improved by one. Sweeter and Franken both had two birdies and Attema had 11 pars. 

Attema tied for 20th with a 162, Franken tied for 28th at 165 and Sweeter tied for 33rd with a 168. Avery Bunkers completed Dordt's first team with a 169 and tied for 37th.

Dordt's second team improved by 23 strokes in the final round, shooting a 357 after opening with a 380. The Defenders finished 12th with a 737. Hope Faber led the second team with a 180.

Nine of the Defender golfers carded a better score on day two.
