Box Score The Dordt University men's soccer team lost to Bellevue 5-1 in the final non-conference match played tonight at the Renner Dennis Outdoor Athletic Complex in Bellevue, Neb.
The Defenders are now 5-4-1 this season as they head to into the heart of their conference schedule. Bellevue earned its fourth straight win and improved to 5-4-1 overall.Â
Dordt fell behind 1-0 by halftime as the host Bruins netted the first goal during the 34th minute off a shot by Edwin Cisneros.Â
The Defenders, however, tied the match just minutes into the second half when midfielder
Pablo Martin delivered a great pass to
Ike D'Silva, who was making a diagonal run and junior finished off the play with a touch that went past Bruins goalie Jaxson Staples. It was D'Silva's third goal for the week and fifth of the season.
Bellevue responded with the game-winner during the 59th minute from a header by Stanley Richardson off a cornerkick taken by Juan Lagares.
The Bruins added three more goals over the final 25 minutes with Richardson scoring his second goal of the match at the 66th minute, followed by goals by Lagares (86th minute) and Adam Sherwood (88th minute).Â
