(Wednesday, September 30; Sioux Center, Iowa) Dordt University has announced that Associate Athletic Director of Facilities and Operations Trent Roose will leave his position in October to pursue another opportunity.

"Trent has been a talented, steady and reliable individual for the Dordt University Athletic Department for many years. Much of what Trent did went unnoticed, and that's a testament to his planning and preparation. I wish him and his family nothing but the best as he transitions into a different role," said Dordt Director of Athletics Dr. Darin Keizer.

Roose began his work at Dordt in 2018 and has served as an assistant baseball coach, director of event operations, assistant athletic director of facilities and operations, director of the American State Bank Sports Complex, interim director of athletics in spring 2024 and, since 2023, in his current role. Roose graduated from Dordt in 2018, earned his Master of Education degree in 2020 and completed his doctorate in Higher Education Administration: Educational Leadership from Liberty University earlier this year.

"I've enjoyed supporting each program in the athletic department while helping develop our student-athletes holistically. It's been a privilege to serve an institution that focuses on doing athletics in a distinctly Christian manner while committing to integrate faith in every aspect of the student-athlete experience," said Roose. "I look forward to what is in store for me and my family in the future."

The search to replace Roose will begin immediately.
