Before Dordt…attended Atlantic High School (Iowa) where he played running back, defensive back, linebacker and wide receiver during his career. He had 63 tackles, 41 rushes for 338 yards and six catches for 128 yards. He claimed second-team all-district honors and was voted team captain.
