(Wednesday, January 25; Sioux Center, Iowa) Dalton Bergthold, a senior at Dallas Center-Grimes High School (Iowa), has announced his intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender football program.
Bergthold is a 5-11, 160-pound safety. He had five interceptions with 46.5 tackles and two fumble recoveries in 2021 and had six punt returns for 166 yards and a touchdown that season. He earned first-team all-district honors and all-academic honors.
"I felt the path God put me on almost literally led me straight to Dordt," said Bergthold.
Dalton is the son of Alene Bergthold, Austin Haroldson, Roger, and Kate Broadbent. He plans to study agriculture at Dordt.
Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).?
U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
