Tyson Reitsma scored two goals and assisted on one in leading the Dordt University men's soccer team to a 3-1 win over Doane in a conference match played under the lights in Crete, Neb.
The Defenders won their third straight match and extend their unbeaten streak to 12, second longest in program history. They improve to 6-0-4 in the GPAC, one of two teams still unbeaten in the conference (Hastings), 7-2-6 overall, with one match left to play.
Scoreless until the 27th minute, Dordt broke through with the first goal of the match when Reitsma received a pass from
Phil Appelt and shot it past Doane goalkeeper Nickolas Olmos for a 1-0 lead.
Holding a 1-0 lead after intermission, the Defenders pushed its lead to 2-0 when
Blake Hansen scored off a double assist from
Kaleb Lee and Reitsma during the 49th minute. Doane came back with a goal seven minutes later when Grayson Meyer found the back of the net. Reitsma secured the win for the Defenders when he scored his second goal off an assist from Even Beier at the 69th minute.
