Blake Hansen scored a game-tying goal with under five minutes left to go as Dordt University and Mount Marty played to a 1-1 tie in a GPAC men's soccer match tonight in Yankton, S.D.
The Defenders extend their unbeaten streak to seven matches (4-0-3) and push their record to 3-0-2 in the conference, 5-2-4 overall. Mount Marty is now 1-2-2 in the GPAC, 5-2-3 overall.
Scoreless after the first half, Mount Marty went ahead 1-0 with a goal scored by Diego Romero, his third of the season, with just a minute gone in the second half. Both teams had chances but were unable to convert over the next 40 minutes as the score remained 1-0 leading into the final four minutes.
The Defenders game-tying goal was set up by a long pass from
Nathan Wanninger to
Tyson Reitsma, who then laid it off for Hansen, who took one touch before blasting a shot into the back of the net during the 86th minute.
