The Dordt University men's soccer team played to a 3-3 draw against Morningside in a conference match played this afternoon at the Defenders Soccer Complex.
Dordt pushed its unbeaten streak to eight matches (4-0-4) and they move to 3-0-3 in the GPAC, 5-2-5 overall. Morningside is now 2-1-4 in the conference, 3-5-5 overall.
With the Defenders holding on to a 3-2 lead, Morningside scored the equalizer with nine seconds left on a header by Gero Zarbo off a cross from Robin Thomala.
Dordt trailed 1-0 at the half but erased its deficit with a goal by
Quintin Olson seven minutes into the second half.
Blake Hansen, who assisted on the Defenders first goal, put his team in front 2-1 when he scored during the 60th minute off a nice pass by
Javier Moscardo.
Morningside responded with its second goal when Zarbo netted a pass from Jakob Fronmueller to tie the match 2-2 at the 74th minute. Hansen seemingly scored the game-winner during the 86th minute when he willed his way through the Morningside defense and touched a shot into the far corner of the goal to put Dordt in front 3-2.
